Overview

Rote Wand Gourmet Hotel in Austria’s Lech am Arlberg village combines tradition with contemporary splendor and culinary excellence. Crafted in harmony with the village, the hotel is comprised of five “houses” that enhance the character of this timeless setting. Not to be missed is the celebrated Rote Wand Chef’s Table, set in a schoolhouse from the 1780s, where Chef Julian Stieger and his team serve culinary highlights using the region's best produce. The Rote Wand Stuben boasts an unforgettable fresh breakfast directly at the table, topnotch Alpine cuisine, and a legendary fondue, while the Lobby restaurant serves a five-course gourmet menu and the lounge and bar offer exquisite snacks and sublime cocktails. Rote Wand’s indulgent spa, meanwhile, envelops guests after an adventurous day skiing, hiking, or biking.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the hotel's restaurant, highlighting the quality of the food and unique dining experiences. The location was also frequently described as beautiful, scenic, and convenient for skiing. Some guests appreciated the friendliness of certain staff members and the cleanliness of rooms. However, many reviews expressed dissatisfaction with the service, citing unfriendliness, lack of professionalism, and language barriers. Value for price was a major concern, with several guests feeling that the hotel was overpriced and charged extra for amenities that should have been included. Overall, while the food and setting were standout positives, service and pricing issues detracted from the experience for many guests.
