We booked a small car, Opel Corsa or similar and they had a Corsa in the lot and two Lacia Yipsilon but they gave us a crossover vehicle called DR which was very large and extremely slow which made going up and down hulls practically dangerous as the car barely made it. For paying so much and not getting anything close to what we ordered felt lile we got a bait and switch from the company. Upon return of the vehicle the office was closed so there was no one to explain this to. Ended up being charged over $200 for less than 24 hours for a vehicle that nearly got us into an accident due to its poor functionality.
Easy. I liked that they went over the current damage with me. I’ve gone to other places where they just hand you the car and you have to rely on yourself to take a video etc etc to prove that previous damage was already there before you rented the car. The worker here walked around the car with me and documented everything before hand and after. Was easy.

I reserved two rental cars under my name back in April at pretty good rates.....when I got there for the pickup in Florence they told me that I couldn't do that....so had to put under my wife's name at the "day of" rate which was almost $1000 more. I shouldn't have to pay for the inadequacies of their systems. They should have given me the promised rate.

I booked an Avis car from Florence to San Remo to drive on 30 May through Kayak and when I went to pick up the car, Avis told me that San Remo Avis would be closed and there was no key drop so I could not take the car. They recommended taking the train but I would have to wait 4 hours until the next train. I changed my destination to the next closest city but it was still an hour away from San Remo and then I had to book a train. Probably the worst experience of this international trip. I will likely not book through Kayak again since you don’t know when the offices are open and closed and if they have key drops.

Florence office never mentioned that the Ravenna office would be closed upon our arrival.. that location also had no after hours drop off. I was charged for theft and collision that I did not authorize. I am disgusted with the service and the car. We asked for an intermediate SUV, they gave us a VW golf. Pathetic.

worst experience I have had. getting car took 1.5 hours: 30 min while they drank coffee and smoked, 30 min for paperwork, and 30 min to go to lot where car was. upon return I texted 1 hour before return and they were still 30 min late. Now I see there was a charge for gas even though I left more gas than initially.

It was a rip-off. At no point did the agency advise that Italian police now require an international driving licence for non-Europeans. At least the established American companies allow you to take the car, but they put the responsibility on the driver to pay any fine, which is an acceptable compromise. Surprice just steal your money. A thoroughly disreputable company!!

I am disappointed with kayak because they quoted me a price. On their website and when I arrived to to Europcar I received a different quote. They informed me it was because I had booked to drop the car off at a military base, which I had no idea I had done. I was quoted 55$ or so by kayak and when I got to Europcar I had to pay 160$. I would like some sort of reimbursement from kayak for this mistake.

Very tough to follow directions within Florence (pick up - drop off), realizing it is a challenging city to begin with. Better directions would help, though the staff at the office were great (language barrier). The car was amazing, zero complaints (having never driven this before).

The agent refused to rent me the car I had reserved because he didn’t accept my legitimate drivers license which was legally acceptable for travel in Italy and I also had an International Drivers License as well. He was very rude and even swore at me. Unfortunately it left my family and I stuck taking taxis all over Florence trying to secure another last minute rental car. Since it was one of the busiest weekends of the year, all cars were sold out until the following day in which another car rental company accepted by license without issue but because we were staying far outside the city, it resulted in over $300 worth of taxis, a lost day on our trip and the car we rented was twice the cost due to having to book with no notice. Terrible terrible experience

It was terrible. We arrived to the location to pick up the vehicle and they told us that unfortunately the vehicle we had reserved was no longer available. The only thing they could recommend was a rental car agency down the street. I can't believe this is even possible through Kayak. Free2Move needs to be deplatformed with this kind of experience.
