The car was dirty. ( insides were covered in dust and had a horrible musty smell) I needed to extend the length of the rental, but the automated phone line kept hanging up or disconnecting. I called the local office and they tried to charge me a completely different amount. I went to the office to show my receipt and he looked it up and said it was a computer malfunction. I then had to wait nearly 40 minutes to get my car. I will consider looking for other rental companies next time.10.0 Wonderful

Improve your off hours telephone support, for normal questions relating to the car functions and normal customer support questions, beyond the 9-5 normal business hours to perhaps 9-9 local time. On your toll-free national number. I called at 6:10pm CA time, right after I picked the car at 5:30pm after I came home, and the telephone support message said the office is only open during normal business hours and call tomorrow. That was bad CS in my opinion. At least they could have directed me to a different number?8.4 Very good

I ordered a Cadillac or similar and was offered a Volvo SUV which is not my style. I ordered a luxury car. I was then offered a compact sports sedan, which ended up being a BMW 3 series. It was nice but I am a big person and do not like SUVs and order luxury cars for the very large size and extra room. The BMW 3 series is a very nice car but much smaller inside than the Cadillac or Lincoln I'm usually ordering. I did not receive the car class size I ordered. I was not unhappy but the experience was not great either.5.6 Fair

Friendly staff when we finally arrived to correct Enterprise location. It did save us money, but was a hassle we weren't prepared for.Cons:
When I called Enterprise to confirm the car reservation, I asked about pickup, since this was not the airport location. I was told it was 3.6 miles from airport and there would be a free shuttle to pick us up. Turned out to NOT be true, and almost 8 mile Lyft ride to get there.10.0 Wonderful

The staff was extremely accommodating. They were very helpful even though our flight was delayed and we arrived after the office had closed. They still provided us with the hard to find van when we arrived a day late, they honored our original reservation price and provided an uber to get back to the airport upon return. The car was not satisfactory. I did not receive the type of car I paid for (BMW 3 series) or given suitable substitute. The car I was given ran poorly and had the check engine light illuminated. I wanted to extend my rental. The credit card I had on file was lost, and discontinued. They would not take a new credit card over the phone. They said this was for my own protection, and prevents fraudulent car rentals. However the car has already been rented... I had already proven my identity when I picked it up. I was not renting a new car. Unless someone had stolen my car, credit card, and was conscientious enough to call Alamo to extend the rental... there is no reason to worry about fraud. Additionally other large companies take credit card information over the phone. To say it is not a secure method is lazy, and hinders Alamo from providing a better customer experience. The customer service rep agreed that the policy did not make sense in my case, but that she could do nothing about it, it was simply "the policy." To me, then, that is the definition of bad policy. I was forced to return to the airport, out of my way, to prove for the second time I am who I am. Just a terrible customer service experience. I will not be renting with Alamo or affiliated Alamo brands in the future.10.0 Wonderful

My main complaint is with the billing process. It was written in my confirmation that "Thrify charged the total cost of this reservation ($85.25) to your credit card today." However, when I picked up the car I was charged an additional $21.17 in miscellaneous services charges and taxes. I have rented cars and purchased flights through Kayak for many years and have never before experienced this "bait and switch" technique. I don't know if this scam was the fault of Kayak, Thrifty or CarRentals.com but suffice to say, I won't be using any of these companies again. If I can't trust you to quote me a fair price, then we can't do business with each other.4.0 Mediocre
