The rental location is really convenient if you are staying at Kauai Beach Resort, because that is where the rental office is located. We found this rental location on Kayak and thought it was located at the airport in Lihue. Luckily for us, we were staying at the KBR. We did have to take a $20 dollar cab each way. So the deals that were close in price (less than the $40 difference in Airport location vs off-site), are the ones we would have chosen.Reviewed Nov 19 2022

Car was picked up at a resort located 3 miles from airport--Hertz office, but no transportation was provided. We had to pay to get there. $44 each way (3-miles from LIH) or pay $150 drop-off fee. This was not disclosed at time of online reservation. Car was not clean and seemed old. Did not have opportunity to discuss with rental rep. as they were busy with another customer. Additional fees/taxes were added, even though this was a PRE-PAID rental that INCLUDED TAXES.Reviewed Nov 7 2022

I have never been assigned such an old and poorly maintained car. The car was out of windshield washer fluid which turned to be not safe when we happened to need it. I was expecting a better car from a tier1 car rental company like Hertz, very disappointing.Reviewed Oct 24 2022

Car needed a service, light kept coming on. Brake shudder. Button on key fob was broken. Blind spot detector was not working, kept blinking, and was irritating while driving. Otherwise ok.Reviewed Jan 4 2022

Hertz packed our threesome family into a Chevy Spark. As unsafe and uncomfortable as this was, we were determined to make the best of it. We would've appreciated a little better customer service than what we were given initially at Lihue, Kauai.Reviewed Dec 24 2021

i was given a camaro, 2 doors, not good, cant easily fit big luggage in the trunk and through the door to the back seat. I don't like sports cars. Mmm The full rental amt was quoted in Canadian $ xxxxx The deposit I paid was in Canadian $ xxxxx There was a balance owing (about 25%) in Canadian $ but when I took delivery of the vehicle the computer system required balance to be paid in US $ (a charge of about 25% more) The staff on duty were really good and understood my issue and were neither incriminating nor derogatory. It took a bit of time. They collected the necessary info from me and said they would get back to me ASAP which in fact was the next day.
