Online check in was not working so had to wait in line. Computers crashed resulting in 90 minute delay. Will never rent a car from Hertz again.

The representative tried to upsale me to their toll-package, when I didn't agree to buy they doubled my rate for the rental. Ended up not taking the car and canceled my plans.

Supplier choice

Staff were professional, pick up and drop off easy. Price? Awful. I felt like I was " nickel and dimed" with fees that weren't on the web page, such as$10 per day for a gas car, $10 plus toll for every day I used a toll road and the ez pass. Bill was almost $800 for 6 days. Hertz is now my last choice.

I did not know that if you rent from the airport location, they Do Not Accept Debit Cards No exceptions. If you want to change rental days they can add but not subtract. Also there is a minimum of a $200 hold until 2-3 business days after the contract has been completed. That being said, I would like to commend the Manager Gardener and Monalisa as well as the staff for working very hard for accommodating My family and I. We were there at 12pm on Saturday until 1:40pm and was able to pick up family at 2:15pm . We had a wonderful time . That was Joy enough for me. The van could have been cleaned a little better bc the keys and steering wheel was sticking with syrup for the previous client.

The first car they gave me smelt like urine. The side of the car was damaged...and had started to rust. It had been like that for a while and they continued to rent it. It had over 50k miles on it! Staff were very disorganized and always calling for cars. Terrible system. Never again!

The day that I arrived there was a shortage of cars at Thrifty, which caused a significant delay for everyone getting their rentals. This was due to an earlier weeks earthquake in New York. Although this was dissapointing as I could not leave for my destination until I received my car, but I have to applaud Thrify employees for keeping good attitude and taking the time to explain to everyone why there is a delay, and that they are doing everything they can to get us out of there. I appreciated the feeling informed attitude. And everyone in line was super kind and positive

The people were friendly and helpful but they do try to upsell (eg electronic toll pass, extra insurance coverage). When driving to exit or enter the vehicle storage area, there isn't much room to maneuver and there are some tight turns.

At the time of car pick up, it looked like a bird egg fell out of a nest and was stuck to the top of the car roof. Scraping it off the car (with a partially formed bird inside) was not pleasant.

Cons:

Car smelled like cigarettes, i prepaid online and then was charged extra at pickup, more than doubling the rental cost. " Mandatory liability insurance, concession fees that weren't mentioned online and $44 for a toll pass which I chose to add). None of which were mentioned online when reserving and paying "In Full". My $125 car rental turned into $300. Felt like a bait and switch. Dishonest advertising. Once i was there for pickup, i needed the car and had no choice but to pay what they were asking.

I was overcharged approximately $370 for the insurance because it didn't specify that it would be 3 times the amount when not purchasing online Windows weren't clean, windshield wipers were old and could barely see when it rained at night. The car was obviously in a major accident as it looked like it was painted with spray cans Plus it had 59,500 miles on it Horrible car and company I have never given such a bad review on a company like this one in my life

Great value for the price. Staff assures that you are getting the best value and were very kind. The car was in great condition. The only thing I would improve is more staff for times with more pick up and drop off. Other renters were very impatient and unkind to staff who were working very efficiently. There were no clear locations to park cars being dropped off which created more work for the staff. Otherwise, excellent.

Staff was efficient and helpful, pickup and drop-off was very easy. I had a much better experience here than I had with a previous rental with Dollar nearby.

Pros:

Pick-up and drop-off was a fairly simple process.

Cons:

When we received our car, the tire pressure light was on. We connected with an employee who filled the tires with air. When finished, the light was still on, but the employee said that "it's because the tires need some time to warm up" (it had snowed two days in a row previously). We had a car for a total of three days and two nights. The tire pressure light never turned off. I wish the employee had taken more care to look into the issue and/or escalate the matter so that we could receive a new car.
