I was informed at the time of pick-up that the car was a full electric car and the only other option was 150 euros on top of what we already paid, which was not feasible for us. I explained that we were traveling to an extremely remote area of Spain and it ended up to turn out to be a terrible experience. We were told we could plug the car into a house, however there was no adapter provided to do this. In addition, part of the charging port in the front of the car was blocked off so we were not able to plug in the high-speed charger into the car so we had to wait 2.5 for the car to charge sitting in petrol station parking lots three times over the course of 2 days. All in all it was a terrible experience. Electric cars should only be rented within city limits or it should be more clear in the booking.

They close the location for 3 hours between 1pm-4pm and don’t notify you in regards to this nonsense. I canceled and booked at Sixt instead.

The Avis counter we went to closes between 1:00 and 4:00 pm, which is important to know. The car they gave me was a manual when I had ordered an automatic. When I turned it on, it leapt forward 2 ft-pretty dangerous. When we ran back to tell them before they closed for the afternoon, they insisted it was an automatic. In the end I got a really nice car, probably an upgrade, since they had no other automatics in that size. So the final outcome was a nice car, but a stressful way to start out the long drive.
