The vehicle was disgusting. The vehicle seats were soaking wet, severely stained, there was a lot of exterior damage, the air conditioner did not always cool the car, the rear drivers side window was broken and would not open, the car was dirty and smelled. We waited a very long time to be served, then for the car, and then when we complained about the wet seats, damage, broken window, smell, etc we were given garbage bags and hotel pillowcases to sit on that looked used and were told there was nothing else they can do. We had no choice but to take this disgusting vehicle to move on with our trip.

Pick-up was excellent. Vehicle was excellent. No problems on the road. Drop-off at Munich airport was poorly organized. No confirmation that vehicle was returned in good condition was provided by on-site personnel. I have some questions about my bill that have yet to be answered. Cost of vehicle in invoice is different from VISA charge (more than invoice).

Excellent customer service at this Sixt location- Via Veneto in Rome at the Marriot hotel- the wonderful Sixt representative Laura helped me with all my needs- her help made my rental experience easy … like all rental companies post pandemic, the prices are too high, but the customer service here at least made the experience go very smoothly…. I will return

Pros:

Paulette was really helpful when we picked up. The drop off was not as easy in Milan, because it wasn’t clear where to go, so we went into the store to ask but there was only one person working and a lot of people waiting. I waited 30 minutes to talk to someone and was told that I just needed to drive up to the 5th floor of garage to return.

In pick up location lady asked me some other type of driving license paper one, refused to give a car, but for your information i was in Italy 7 times and i was using my driving license wich is international! After i just pass the road to other budjet car rental and got a car, and drivier license was good and they didint asked me any other paper based stupid license! I was very disappointed and i don’t reccomend hertz

L’ufficio d inizio noleggio era lontano dal garage dove si ritirava la vettura. Avevo prenotato una Fiat 500 X o simile ma l’impiegato dell’ufficio mi ha informato che invece una Renault sarebbe stata disponibile. Per me sarebbe stato OK ma poi ho scoperto che la vettura era una DR di fabbricazione cinese!!!! Mai vista prima! Con solo 37000 km le sospensioni anteriori erano già “cotte”. Vi sembra il modo di operare? Il servizio di consegna a Venezia era OK.

We had a terrible experience with Alamo and likely will not be giving our business to Alamo again. The pickup process and the staff in Rome was fantastic, but the drop off process in Florence was a nightmare! When we drove into Florence, we arrived at the address we were provided both by the Alamo staff in Rome and in our rental agreement. The office was in a terrible location and was not open despite arriving during listed business hours. Since the office was closed, we had to take the rental car to our hotel and pay to valet park it overnight. When we went to return the rental car at the listed opening time the next morning, we waited in a line at the provided address, only to get to the front and be immediately directed to a parking garage that was NOT listed on the rental return agreement without the staff doing anything to acknowledge and process the return. We were provided unclear instructions on where the return garage was that did not take into account current road closures. Due to needlessly waiting in line at the return location provided by Alamo in the rental agreement, the return process not being initiated in the system upon our arrival at the provided location, and the delay in finding the return garage, we arrived at the garage 15 minutes after our return time and charged for an entire extra day. Had we had clear instructions on where to return the vehicle, we would have had a much better experience.

Pick up was fine but when i needed to drop off an hour late they wanted to charge me an extra day. So, I ended up dropping it off before the drop off time however when I received my bill it said it was late by 2 hours and they charged me. Also, I was charged almost 10x the agreed price to my credit card. Never again.

Great experience overall. I had a fun little manual hybrid Fiat 500 that was perfect for Italy. Zero deductible damage insurance gave me some peace of mind in a foreign country.

The vehicle I originally ordered was not available. The agent at budget City Centre tried to tell me that I didn’t order the vehicle and reserved online, then proceeded to tell me that the vehicle doesn’t exist in Italy. The car was dented and wasn’t not recorded at the time of pickup. Thankfully, I did a full vehicle wall around before taking the vehicle from budget. When I dropped the car off at Budget Airport, the agents were better and I explained the situation with the pickup. They confirmed that the original vehicle I ordered is available in Italy and they had chosen to not have it onsite for pickup. They also asked about the dent, which I showed the video to prove it was there at pickup. They stated that the first agent at pickup never recorded it, but because of the proof I wouldn’t be charged. This was such a bad experience given that I ordered a Van to fit 8 people and they gave me an SUV that fit 7, with no room for luggage. Because of this experience, I will never use Budget again and will tell everyone I know to avoid it as well.
