Insurance scam!!? I prepaid the rental car with my primary credit card. When I showed up, I was going to use the insurance provided by my credit card. I was told if I did this and did not buy their insurance. I would need to put a $1500 deposit which was fine. When I went to use the same card it was declined, numerous times. I had two other credit cards with me and they were also all declined. I called up all three credit card companies and they said everything was fine on their end, there were enough funds available to cover the deposit. I then try to run my credit card for one dollar and it was still declined. At that. I had a choice of either walking away from the rental car without a refund or to purchase their insurance. Inlight of the amount of time this was taking I decided to purchase their insurance and what a surprise, my credit card that was declined numerous times before was all of a sudden suddenly accepted. The insurance was expensive, costing the same amount approximately as a rental car. I would never use this rental car company again and surprise that kayak is associated with them.

We said we would arrive at 8pm and the shuttle was not there. There was no answer many times when we called, and when they did answer and say they'd be there to pick us up in 5 minutes it still took another 30. We were outside waiting with a 3 year old in the wind and cold for an hour and 15 minutes. When we finally got to the rental counter they forced us to get insurance even though we didn't need it, because their deposit was an outrageous $1100 and our credit card company would not accept the temporary hold. The insurance was also the most expensive I've ever seen and this makes me feel like the organization is a complete scam operator. DO NOT USE!

They didn’t give me a copy of the contract at pick up or drop off. At pick up, the representative did everything possible to extract money, first complaining of some small chalk powder in a cupholder that I quickly wiped away with water, then about a “scratch” that I wiped away with my thumb, and finally about some small wear on a corner that he claimed was a large scratch down the whole front of the car. He refused to show me the markup of damages on his report or to give me a copy of the report, and then charged me $1.5 K for the damages, which I am now contesting but they are not replying to phone calls, email, or contact form submission.

We picked up the car and it was very dirty. They were not clear where the shuttle was in Bari and had to make multiple phone calls to understand where to go.

It was perfect in every other way except that we were told that we're lucky that the car was still available since we arrived many hours after our booking start time. If I have booked a car for a time and have already paid for it, the car should stay reserved for me, no matter when I arrive.

We reached the airport at 10pm. The shuttle never came DESPITE MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS IN WHICH THE AGENT PROMISED HE WOULD BE COMING WITHIN 7MIN, THEN 10MIN etc. There was another lady who was on her own and in same predicament. At 11pm, the phone calls started going to voicemail and it was obvious that the rental company had no intention of living up to their obligation and we all gave up waiting and took a taxi to our respective hotels. We will be pursuing a full refund and advise everyone never to use this avenue for car rental.
